Finale
Session 1 of 4
Friday, January 28, 2022 • 5:45 PM EST
Instructor: Jason Krug
The Finale music notation software is incredibly flexible and powerful…and fiendishly difficult to master. Whether a complete novice or seasoned veteran, there’s something for every user of Finale in this four-class track. Class 1 focuses on entering notes, expressions, and articulations. Class 2 focuses on using Finale specifically to write for handbells. Class 3 deals with page layout and making the final product look its best. Class 4 is a workshop for attendees to get help with their own Finale conundrums. Participants are encouraged to use their own computers with any version of Finale to follow along! It is strongly recommended that attendees watch the class on a different device than the one on which they intend to use Finale.

00:22:47 Justin Wooten: we do not hear it
00:23:17 Linda Onorevole: if you can raise the piano more that would be helpful. it’s very quiet
00:33:38 dp: I have also put a note value on the staff then hit the letter R and it gives me an automatic rest equal to the note value put in
00:33:51 Pat M: I used to have a Cakewalk program years ago. I was able to enter in hyperscribe mode from synth keyboard with the click track very slow which made it easier with only a few stray 32nd notes! Don’t know yet if that works with Finale.
00:34:23 Linda Onorevole: can you repeat the question it was not to the whole group
01:08:45 Denise Baustian: I just have an old version of Note Pad which it has at least some of the features you have talked about–I think that it has more than I realized. I am anxious to look at it–Thank You so much!
01:09:41 Linda Onorevole: thank you!
01:10:01 Michele Sargent: thank you!!
