What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Brazil? Carnival? Dance? Rhythm?! PROBABLY AND YES!!! We have wonderful music and this is your chance to learn about it! But, better than that, you will be able to do Brazilian rhythms on handbells! Join us and learn how the Brazilian rhythm works and how to perform it on bells and sound original, authentic, and creative!
00:16:00 Eileen Raycroft: Hello from Los Angeles, CA!
00:16:12 Christy Glynn: Hello!
00:31:17 Christy Glynn: That was a delight!
00:33:33 Karen Van Wert: I like the lift mallet to add accent. Great use of technique
00:38:51 Ellie Hodder: Can you talk a little about what you are doing with your hands with tambourine/tamborim. Looks like fingers, hand, top side back side. Am I close?
00:49:06 Karen Van Wert: It makes me want to get out the Cachaça and make Caipirinhas.
00:49:28 Christy Glynn: Mad mallet skills and loved the glissando!
00:50:24 Janis Jang: Wow! What was happening when you put your mallet down and both of you played one bell?
00:51:33 Christy Glynn: The ringers are also moving in their artistry, feeling the music. Makes the melody come alive to watch!
01:04:35 Ellie Hodder: Obrigada, Bruna. You are a wonderful teacher.
01:04:42 Christy Glynn: Where will your future arrangements be available?
01:04:46 Eileen Raycroft: So much new information! I love the music but appreciate the breakdown of the rhythms!
01:05:06 Christy Glynn: Yes. Ipenema.
01:06:26 Bonnie Havery: You are amazing! Thank you very much.
01:06:35 Laura Blauch: Obrigada!
01:06:36 Christy Glynn: Please keep arranging and sharing your musical culture with ringers. This has been a joy!
